The SIVOM of Soissons decided to implement a Remote Management network to monitor and control 36 lift stations distributed across the 350km-long sewer system.

The Cegelec system integrator was awarded the contract for installing the SOFREL Remote Management equipment. Today, the SIVOM network is built around S50A RTUs located at each lift station and connected to the PCWin master station via the dial-up phone network.

This solution optimizes network performance and improves maintenance management:

• The data received from the RTUs and processed by the master station (e.g. daily, monthly, weekly reports) allow SIVOM operators to better know the network and run it more efficiently,
• With immediate alarm notification, the field personnel no longer needs to inspect facilities systematically and rather focuses on maintenance and repair tasks. 

Remote diagnostics indicate which failure must be handled and which device should be replaced, thus significantly increasing the maintenance staff's responsiveness. HVAC-specific control sequences, local data archiving, and high computing power were key factors for the selection of SOFREL equipment.
